General:
Develop Web based prototypes and proof of concept applications leveraging ESRI’s core ArcGIS Server and ArcWeb Services technologies.
Job Location: Redlands, CA
Responsibilities:
• Front-end user interface development and service integration leveraging ESRI’s ArcGIS Server and ArcWeb Services technologies
• Work in ESRI’s Applications Prototype Laboratory exploring and developing new Web applications and technologies with ESRI’s core server products
• Work in small teams, frequently interacting with ESRI’s software development teams often with alpha versions of our products
• Occasionally work with group members on competitive tests and special projects to prove the capabilities of ESRI’s software
Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree plus 1-2 years of Web development experience, ideally with some experience in GIS or a GIS related discipline
• Creative Web developer with excellent user interface design and implementation skills
• Innate curiosity and demonstrated ability to master and apply new technology quickly
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with other creative people
• Proficiency and several years of work experience with Java Script, AJAX, Java and/or .NET, SOAP, GML and XML
• Experience with ArcGIS Server and/or ArcGIS Web Services is desirable but not required if the candidate has experience with other spatial or location based service technologies or significant expertise integrating other Web server technologies
• Infrequent domestic or international travel may be required
• Good small group presentation skills
Recommended Qualifications:
• A deep understanding of the concepts and technology behind Services Oriented Architecture
• Experience with portal development software a plus
