Applications Developer at University of Connecticut - Student Affairs IT (Storrs Mansfield, CT 06269)

The Department of Student Affairs Information Technology is seeking a highly technical and self-motivated Application Developer to analyze, design, develop and maintain web applications for the Division of Student Affairs. This is an opportunity to build new products from scratch with a dedicated small team of developers following agile practices.

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems;
- Two to three years experience programming applications;
- Ability to independently analyze and translate assigned specifications into operating programs and prepare detailed program documentation;
- Demonstrated ability in analytical reasoning and logical problem solving;
- Good written and oral communication skills

What we are looking for:
- Fluency in Python or similar language;
- Experience in unit testing and agile development;
- Good understanding of OO design, MVC framework and template-based layouts;
- Proficiency in database design and SQL;
- Experience working in a UNIX-LINUX environment;
