Zephyr’s web development team seeks an Application Administrator to take responsibility for the deployment and maintenance of our web based applications. This is a great opportunity to take administrative ownership of a quickly growing and important application. As a member of the development staff you will act as a liaison between the development and system administration teams and make recommendations to Project Management on how to improve the maintainability and reliability of our infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Work with developers to develop and document deployment procedures
- Work with the system administration team to build, deploy, and maintain systems required to support our web service applications
- First line of support for issue resolution for our production web services
- Deployment and maintenance of financial performance databases
- Deployment of new application versions and patches
- Maintain application and SQL security policies for production and staging environments
- Make recommendations to Project Management to improve service automation
- Work with system administrators to define a system monitoring policy
Requirements:
- Experience maintaining a production web application
- History maintaining Windows Server in a production environment
- Strong knowledge of IIS and SQL Server administration
- Solid background in TCP/IP and HTTP networking
- Ability and desire to learn new technology and custom applications and adapt to industry trends
Preferred:
- Experience with application configuration and build tools such as Perforce and Cruise Control
- Experience supporting SaaS products
- Experience performing application security audits
- Linux administration experience
- Knowledge of HTTP load balancing and caching technologies such as Squid and Memcached
