The Retail Customer Experience Team is seeking a talented, passionate senior user experience designer to create new social applications centered around lists and gifting. As the sole designer on the Lists & Registries Team, you will play a vital role in shaping products and services that will be seen and used by millions of customers worldwide. We require a highly motivated, self-directed, persuasive advocate for the customer who works well in a fast-paced environment handling multiple deliverables.

  • Contribute to the design of useful, usable, and desirable products and services in a team environment
  • Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings
  • Use business requirements and market research to assist in developing use cases, high-level requirements
  • Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flow of new web and software applications
  • Art direct or design the visual design of the web and software applications
  • Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes
  • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications
  • Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and Amazon.com executives for review and feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates will have a mastery of the user-centered design process, the principals of web design, and scalable dynamic GUIs.
  • Knowledge of Dreamweaver, Flash & Flash Video as well as Actionscript, Ajax and Visio are a huge plus
  • You must be a self-starter, customer-focused, detail-oriented, comfortable working on cross-functional teams, and able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to present your designs to team members and managers detailing why a given design will work
  • Most of all, the successful candidate will provide an excellent online portfolio, comprehend technology as it relates to ecommerce, buy things on-line, and fill their spare time by brimming with insanely great ideas.
