AboutUs.org is seeking a team player at a high level of skill to join our Software development team.
AboutUs.org is a profitable 2 yr old startup with offices in Portland, Oregon and Lahore, Pakistan. Our website attracts more than 7 million unique visitors each month and is growing rapidly. Our website is a community (wiki) driven guide to websites and becoming much more.
Responsibilities
- Take leadership in small teams to create new functionality in well tested code
- Accept shared ownership of our entire production code-base
- Promote team learning
Competencies
- Demonstrated Ruby on Rails experience
- Demonstrated JavaScript experience
- Effectiveness in small team and startup environment
- Works well in Agile development team
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and deploy open-source solutions where applicable in a MySQL / Linux environment
- Strong software development background, familiar with all aspects of the software development life cycle
- Previous experience in web-based system architecture design and development
